The wide cleaning path of the Eureka 4870mz Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum was the first thing that impressed me. It is wider than any other vacuum I have used so far. Rooms seem to be clean in half the time it takes other narrower vacuums to do.

On top of the wide cleaning path, the strength of this vacuum is impressive for its weight and price tag. It's about 25 pounds, so for most people it is easy to move from room to room or up stairs. The strength of the Eureka 4870mz Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum has been compared to Dyson vacuums, but Eureka vacuums cost so much less! One of the only 'drawbacks' I've found, if you can even call it that, is that it is a pretty noisy vacuum. But as long as it has good power, who cares?

Speaking of good power, this vacuum is great at lifting the nap of the carpet. Once you go over it, it feels much nicer, and you're reminded of what your carpets felt like when they were new. It's just fantastic at fluffing the high-traffic areas on the carpet and making them less noticeable.

The Eureka 4870mz Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum has very easy to decipher knobs and switches. It seems like on some vacuums, you have to memorize which little grey button does what, or refer back to the instructions all the time. This vacuum has clearly labeled controls. The height knob shows exactly where to turn it to for the height you want, and where the bare floor setting is. It also has a large switch for directing the suction to the power head or the hose. Life is complicated enough without having to worry about whether you're using your vacuum right!

Another great thing about the Eureka 4870mz Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum is that it has a three stage filtration system on it that cleans the air as it passes out of the vacuum. This system includes a HEPA filter that claims to get 99% of all the dust, bacteria, and everything else you don't want flying around in your home. So really, this vacuum cleans the air in your house while it's cleaning your carpets! It's hard to beat that.

Overall I am extremely pleased with the Eureka 4870mz Boss Smart-Vac Upright Vacuum. It has done a great job cleaning so far. Just about anyone would be glad to have this as an addition to their cleaning arsenal.
