The check bag indicator is great! I always forgot to empty the bag when I was vacuuming, and everybody knows what a problem that can be. Now the indicator on the Hoover U5140-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum reminds me. The more reminders you have in life for little things like that, the better.

This vacuum has a good weight too. It isn't the lightest thing in the world, but it only weighs about 20 pounds, which is easy to move around. It is also easier than most vacuums to carry if you need it upstairs. A lot of vacuums only weigh 5 to 10 pounds more, but that can make a big difference! This also makes it easier to direct it around furniture and any other obstacles in your path.

Having a light on the front of the vacuum is great too. Some vacuum lights seem rather dim, and you wonder why they're on there at all. The Hoover U5140-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum's light is nice and bright, so it actually shows you if you miss something.

This vacuum also has a filtration system that cleans the air going through it. I like that because now the air smells fresh after vacuuming instead of smelling like dust.

The biggest drawback I have found with the Hoover U5140-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum is that the bag is somewhat on the small side. It doesn't take it very long to fill up if you're using it regularly. But the power of the vacuum and the ease of use make up for it. Just be sure to buy some extra bags and keep some on hand all the time. Also, this isn't a great vacuum for hard flooring. I only have linoleum in my kitchen and bathrooms, and while the vacuum picks up hairballs, it isn't good at grabbing the fine dirt. It isn't a problem since I just sweep it up, but if you have a house full of hard-floors, you may want a different vacuum.

The Hoover U5140-900 Bagged Upright Vacuum isn't a fancy super-expensive vacuum with all the bells and whistles on it. But that's why I like it. If you want a vacuum that can do everything but the dishes, this isn't the model for you. But if you want an inexpensive vacuum that gets the dirt out of your carpet, this is a great pick.
